Manufacturer-supplied beta-listening feedback describes the BD34302 module as balanced and smooth, with natural vocals, layered depth and an expansive soundstage. Listeners reported clearer instrumental separation, richer low-level detail, smoother treble and controlled bass compared with the earlier BD34301 module.

BD34302, BD34301 or ES9039SPRO?

In the supplied listening comparisons, BD34301 was described as sweeter and more forward in vocal presentation, while BD34302 was described as more natural and spacious. ES9039SPRO was characterised as crisp, energetic and impactful for large-scale orchestral music; BD34302 was preferred by some testers for relaxed listening, vocals, pop, small ensembles and light classical music. Preferences depend on headphones, music and individual hearing.

ROHM Second-Generation MUS-IC Technology

The supplied ROHM technical information highlights spatial reverberation, quietness, dynamic range and the reproduction of instrumental texture. Compared with BD34301EKV, BD34302EKV raises the chip’s maximum PCM sampling rate from 768kHz to 1536kHz and lists typical THD+N of -117dB rather than -115dB. Both list typical chip SNR of 130dB and DSD support at 2.8, 5.6, 11.2 and 22.5MHz.

Important: Chip specifications are not complete-device measurements. The XD05 Pro and TA-32 USB controllers support up to PCM 768kHz, so the chip’s 1536kHz capability does not mean USB playback at that rate is available.
