Build your listening system around discrete resistor-ladder conversion, native 1-bit DSD and flexible analog outputs. The AUDALYTIC DR80 series combines a 26-bit complementary R-2R module, FPGA processing and a CK-01 clock with a GUSTARD × Amanero USB interface. Choose the DR80 for an external digital source, or the DR80n to add an integrated network bridge.

A precision resistor network converts PCM digital code into an analog signal. The supplied design uses 26-bit complementary conversion. DSD has a separate native 1-bit conversion path: in DSD Direct mode, the bitstream feeds the switching-array decoder without intermediate PCM conversion.
For a quiet evening with a familiar album or a session exploring high-resolution recordings, this architecture offers a different conversion approach from conventional delta-sigma DACs. Format support depends on the input, source software and device configuration.
The FPGA implements clock management, digital shaping, DoP demodulation and PCM/DSD depop switching. The CK-01 module provides the DAC's clock reference. The customized GUSTARD × Amanero USB solution uses an ARM Cortex-M7 i.MX RT1011 platform for high-rate audio transport.
The DR80n adds a CelWare bridge co-developed with Cel Audio. Its Linux-based playback platform allows unused playback protocols to be disabled. The supplied documentation lists Roon, AirPlay, UPnP, NAA, Qobuz Connect and TME Connect support. Service availability and operation depend on firmware, compatible apps, account requirements and region; this listing does not assert Roon certification.
On a compatible local network, Windows or macOS users can access bridge settings at dr80.local. Android and iOS control is described through a dedicated Bridge app. The DR80 does not include these network-bridge features.
The Qualcomm QCC5125 platform supports LDAC, AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX LL and aptX HD. LDAC is specified for 24-bit PCM at 44.1–96 kHz. The active codec depends on the transmitting device and connection settings.
RCA and balanced XLR outputs can operate simultaneously. Fixed output levels are specified as 2 Vrms for RCA and 4 Vrms for XLR. An onboard analog volume IC provides adjustable level control and a direct bypass option for use with a separate preamplifier.
These are line-level outputs for compatible amplifiers or active speakers, not headphone outputs. The HP80 amplifier shown in the supplied promotional material is a separate product and is not included.

The I2S limits above are taken from the supplied input specifications and exceed the general USB/network headline limits. Actual playback requires a compatible source and matching I2S pinout. The I2S connection is not a conventional HDMI video input.
Listed USB host systems: Windows 7/8/10/11 (32/64-bit), macOS, iOS and Linux. Drivers, adapters and application support may be required for particular formats.
Segmented filtering and independently regulated rails serve different circuits to reduce interaction between power domains. The built-in supply accepts AC 100–240 V at 50/60 Hz. Optional external DC power is specified as 12–15 V with at least 2 A capacity; confirm connector polarity and manufacturer instructions before use.
The anodized aluminum enclosure comes in Black or Silver. LCD brightness adjustment, display sleep and IR remote operation support everyday use.
