Due to the significant rise in memory prices this year, FiiO has launched a new 512MB version as their latest model. The 8GB version is actually the older stock — once it's sold out, it won't be restocked.
The FiiO SnowSky Echo Mini is a high-resolution portable music player that combines retro design elements with modern high-fidelity audio features. Inspired by the classic cassette players, the Echo Mini offers dual DACs, Bluetooth support, and extensive file format compatibility, making it the perfect music companion for those who cherish nostalgia without compromising on sound quality.

A new tariff system will take effect across all 27 EU member states starting 1 July 2026. The EU is abolishing the duty exemption for low-value parcels — all goods entering the EU will now be subject to customs duties, including a fixed duty of €3 per HS tariff code category for IOSS-declared goods under €150.
A handling surcharge of USD $5 has been applied to all standard shipments to EU countries on orders under $100. Orders over 100 qualify for free expedited shipping.

NOTE: This is a rewrite of my previous review with more details, since I can't seem to edit that one.
Regrettably I was 7 days late on being able to refund this (I guess that's why it's only a month).
With the most recent firmware update, the music stutters while the screen is on. The notion that there's even an option to display album art is laughable.
I don't know if Apple has some patent on accelerated scrolling but this is the second Fiio DAP I've bought and neither of them have it. So if you actually want to listen to music and not just use this as some kind of accessory you can go f*** yourself I guess.
At some point it started bugging out, it was on but the screen wouldn't turn on for a full minute. I was halfway through an album and started getting hit with Format Not Supported for music I was already listening to. This Error window repeatedly popped up, preventing me from interacting with the device (including preventing me even shutting it off somehow). Once it stopped having that fit, it wouldn't let me play any other music (including things that had played fine an hour prior) without the same error occurring.
Things that don't bother me but are issues:
Tagging tracks for this can be a pain but it doesn't particularly bother me, at least it's functional (special thanks to mp3tag for still being free after all these years).
The buttons don't feel great, but for the price, that's also to be expected.
Parts of this are good (it does (on occasion) play music after all) but as a whole it ends up being nonfunctional too frequently, ultimately quite disappointing.
I spent some weeks troubleshooting. This involved getting next to no support from HiFiCat, whose redundant responses took a WEEK each time before eventually ghosting me. I say redundant because their emails included information such as what failing microSDs do after I had repeatedly told them and demonstrated that my microSDs are fine. They told me they'd give me information about warranty services and I responded 10 days ago and I still haven't got a response back.
Anyway this terrible music player started stuttering on music that was saved to its own native hard drive. So it's useless, in just under 2 months, utterly useless. Buy the Tempo-Tec V1, visual just aesthetic isn't worth it with for the SnowSky.
