Unlike conventional delta-sigma DACs that rely on oversampling and noise-shaping, the Pegasus III uses a true R2R resistor ladder for bit-perfect PCM decoding and a native DSD pathway for DSD streams.
The Pegasus III employs dual R2R ladders (one for positive phase, one for negative phase) to create a true balanced signal path from digital input to analog output. This eliminates common-mode noise and doubles the output voltage swing for superior dynamic range.
