The DM7 is Temperament's Best Flathead To Date

I have quite a few flatheads from Kaisheng/Temperament (DB1, DB1E, LBBS, X3, X6, X10, and Kaza) and this is by far my favorite earbud that they've made. It combines the great vocal performance of the DB1E with the better bass presence of the DB1 while rounding down the harsher edges of vocals along with increasing the depth and impact of bass as well as having a much wider soundstage than either of those prior models.

After being disappointed with the vocals of the DB1 when compared to the DB1E I was a little hesitant to buy the DM7 as there aren't a lot of reviews for it and I was afraid of being disappointed again. But wow am I ever glad I decided to give it a try, as this is flathead gets the closest to my ideal sound signature out of the approximately 30 prebuilt sets I have. The closest I've gotten is with a DIY build which does still win in some aspects (soundstage and imaging) but this excels in several other areas (bass extension and impact, fuller mid-range) that I doubt I'll be able to replicate with off-the-shelf parts. Kaisheng is really showing why they're one of the top companies making flatheads as their dedication and experience really shines with this model.

The stock cable of the DM7 isn't great as half of it is the same cable that was used for the X-series of earbuds which are in a much cheaper price bracket. It wasn't a deal breaker for me as I was planning on wearing it over-ear with Fiio's LC-4.4a cable which works great if you prefer to wear earbuds that way instead of cable down. But if you want a better stock cable I would go for the DM7 Blue as it should have the updated cable that Kaisheng switched to a few months after the DM7 was released since the blue version was released not too long ago.

To get the most out of the DM7 you'll want to use a desktop setup, preferably with a tube amp to truly experience what it's capable of especially when it comes to the soundstage. Even a budget setup such as SMSL's M300SE and Apos' Gremlin will start to show what this earbud is truly capable of that midrange/higher-end portable DAC/amps such as Musehifi's M5 Ultra don't quite reach. But no matter what I've used with the DM7 I've still enjoyed how it sounds even though some pairings have stood out more than others.

TL;DR: Great sounding flathead with clear vocals, good bass impact and extension, and a wide soundstage. Works well with any source but has a lot of headroom to grow with better setups and sounds great on tubes. Stock cable isn't great but is replaceable so not a deal breaker. Well worth the asking price especially considering how much more the DM7Ti costs.

Full bass, nice midrange and detailed treble.
Instrumental timbres are reproduced to my liking.
Vocals are natural and clearly defined.
Titanium alloy are well-made and extremely comfortable to wear.
The Titanium alloyl is light weight and a perfect fit for my ears.
The Premium cable so light and comfortable to wear.
I normally use only the 4.4mm terminated one in my music player.
Magnetic density of 2.0 Tesla (DM7Ti) for superior sound reproduction.
The included Modular Replaceable Cable System work easy for me.
The included cables and other accessories are of good design and quality.
Overall packaging is good - everything displayed clearly and most importantly: protected.
I am very happy with the DM7Ti earphones from Temperament and am enjoying them very much.
I purchased them from The Hificat. The communication kind and quick response.
